How we treat our Patients.

At Crosby Physiotherapy, we use a wide range of skills all designed to relieve pain, promote healing and restore function. We also advise on preventative measures and will teach you how to avoid recurrence of your problem.

On your first consultation, you will have a thorough assessment. This involves a full examination, together with an understanding of your work, rest and sport/hobbies.

This full assessment is to identify your problem and ensure that the diagnoses and treatment will relate to you and your whole lifestyle. After full consultation, we will decide and implement the best form of treatment for you. Treatment is included at your first visit so that you can start feeling better right away!

The clinical assessment and diagnoses considers the whole body, targeting the cause of the problem as well as treating the symptoms.

Manipulation & Mobilisation

‘Hands on’ techniques to restore or improve joint movement, to promote healing and relieve pain.

Soft Tissue Release / Massage

Techniques used to alleviate muscle tensions or spasm, facilitate movement and promote healing or simply to aid recovery following strenuous sport or exercise activities.

Muscle Imbalance / Core Stability - Re-education

Prescribed strengthening exercises and stretches to help restore muscle balance and re-educate weakened and underused muscle groups.

Rehabilitation Programmes

Closely supervised Rehab programme’s can offer not only an enhanced recovery process but will help to prevent recurrence and maximise your functional capacity and performance.

Electrotherapy

We have sophisticated electronic and electrical equipment including short-wave diathermy, ultra-sound and interferential, to assist with promoting the healing process and providing pain relief.

Sports Screening / Fitness Training

We offer comprehensive sport specific screening, so if you are planning a ski trip or running a marathon or purely training for a particular event, we can provide you with an individualised, sport specific programme to ensure that you are fighting fit.

Sports Massage

For the sports person it is a main contributor to injury prevention as prevention is better than cure. A massage helps the muscles relax and in doing so, the waste products of exercise are moved out of the muscles and into the lymphatic system generating fresh blood flow with nutrients to feed and look after the muscles.

A massage can also help to relieve stress, headaches and help you relax after a hard days work or training, thus helping with sleep patterns. We offer certain types of massage being pre, intermediate and post event massage or if you just want to relax we can cater for that also.
